Stray kittens need a home, I need help convincing Mom and Dad?

Ok.
Im not being selfish like begging for help.
But, my neighbor invited me to North Dakota, i’m thrilled!
I went last year also. And they also had kittens there. :/
Unfortunately… they were not well taken care of.
They lived under a deck, and were given little interaction by the owners who lived there.
The mother had to hunt to feed them, and the kittens were about 7 weeks. Hungry. Poor health. It was unbearable for me to watch.
Luckily, me and my friend decided to take each kitten one by one, (asking permission of the home owner first) and bring them back to the camper in which we were staying, and gave them a warm meal.
When it was time to return back to Minnesota I cried.
I didn’t want to leave them there knowing that they may not live.
There was no father.
Only another female cat who was very protective of her young ones, but knew we were there to help.
Anyways.
It’s been a year since we’ve been there, and now were going back tomorrow.
Well. I just heard, the mother had MORE kittens!
About 6 weeks.
I’m having an anxiety attack just thinking of their condition!
I can’t let those kittens live like that.
I am going with my friends family, so I wont have any interaction with my family.
I want nothing more than to find them homes.
6 weeks is young, and mom should stay with them.
But, the owners didn’t care enough the first time to care for them.
If I can find homes for the kittens.
I certainly will.
I cant just tell myself to leave these things alone.
Now.
I’ve wanted a kitten for a loooong time.
But, Mom has ALWAYS made an excuse for why I can’t have one.
Stupid ones at that.
I agree with one.
Shedding.
Cats DO shed.
Yes, but why should that prevent you from caring for something that needs it?
Last year, I fell in LOVE with a long-haird calico female.
She was a doll.
I asked my mother, at first, jokingly.
If I could keep her.
No.
Then I became more serious.
No.
Then I even plead a little.
No.
Is there anyway I can convince her?
We have a dog, and I do a fair amount with her.
But, not at first I didn’t.
I told my mom it would teach me responsibility, when I wanted our dog.
Now, if I say it for the kitten.
It wont work.
I tell her, It’s for a good cause! If I cant keep her. I’ll find someone in the neighborhood who can, if that doesnt work. I’ll take her to the No Kill Animal Shelter!
I just want these kittens to live out their lives, they only get one.
Why should they live it in poor condition?
Please, if there is ANY way I can get some help, advice.
I’d love it!
I need it soon.
Thanks!
These are not farm kittens.
Nor barn kittens.
Nor alley cats.
these are domestic cats, whom are not feral.
Poor treated.
The shelters in which we have are available for taking kittens in right away.
They live under a persons deck.
She’s kind of… Strange… in the crazy sense.
She gives NO care.
The kittens live in a hole in her cement, under her hatched deck.
They were thin, neglected, and were not fed latley.

What happened to the cats last year? I assume they all made it. These are farm cats, and they are use to this way of life. Really. Seems awful to you, but this is how farm cats live all over the country. It doesn’t feel like bad treatement to them.

DO NOT just bring them home and assume the ‘no kill’ shelter will take them. TRUST ME, they won’t! I am in Minnesota, too. I found a kitten that was being abused by neighborhood kids this winter. They are FULL!! And you will be responsible for that cat/kittens until YOU can find them a home.

I still have the cat, because the shelters are overflowing, and no one wants another cat. Leave them in North Dakota on the farm. This is their home, and what they are use to.

If you really want a cat, contact me! I even had this one vet checked and neutered hoping to increase his chances of finding a home. And still no one wants this beautiful kitten. And STILL, 7 months after finding him, the no-kill shelters still won’t take him because they are still too full and have too many cats to find homes for.

Edit: If you are in the Twin Cities, CALL all the shelters first to MAKE SURE they will take them. Seriously. I just contacted every single one of them this week, as far away as DULUTH, as I have been doing for the past 7 months….and NONE of them will take the kitten I have. If they will take yours, then that is amazing.

The length of your question, says to me, that you are a caring person.

Your mom is a mother, so, she know what caring means, so I’d say, show her that you possess those, and maybe perhaps, even at your age, can take care of a child.

Everyone wants to feed the poor starving kitten, but what happens when you are not there to feed the kitten? It dies. Sad but true.

I am against the auto fixing of any creature, but when it comes to strays, cage them, fix them, then release them. This ends the suffering of needless stray kittens.

    I hope I have helped.

Wow, I’m proud of you for wanting to do the right thing!
The only thing that I could imagine would work with MY OWN mom would be to explain the situation, and if she still said no. Then I’d most likely just keep asking and asking until she gets so fed up she says yes.
Tell your mom that you should try it and if it really bothers her that much, then you’ll find a different home for the kitten.

Tell vets about the FREE kittens in your area and their need for care, and ask what you should and also ask if they will help. I do not know how to say this, but just to say it. No matter HOW much you LIKE these people, this is animal abuse–choose life for them. Vets will help to find really good homes for them. Post at vet locations. Or ask vets in your area if they want a cat…they love kittens. :-) Or a vet tech might adopt it.
